A Belgian, Israeli, South African, photographer and filmmaker. Her diverse background gives her the accessibility to move and explore these regions of the world. Levitan aims to discover different avenues and ways to capture the connection between humans and nature. Her love for the oceans sets a strong foundation for a lot of her work. Being in and around marine environments has given her a unique skill set in using underwater photography equipment.
Her personal work mirrors the interwoven story of her own experiences with nature and the of the ‘human experience’. This has been fabricated through projects such as ‘The Egoless Immersion’ and ‘Nature’s Form’, where she uses nature as her main canvas to navigate these topics. Her images and videos have an experimental twist to them, combining analogue techniques and digital photography to express that interwoven story.
